Yesterday’s Dalkey Island BBQ was a great success and I would like to pass on members thanks to Muriel for the excellent catering carried out in preparation and on the Island itself. There’s a few things to look forward to over the next few Club Saturday’s.
Saturday 12th September
We’ll spend some time doing some basic dinghy boat handling coaching this coming Saturday for members who wish to opt in. Keelboaters – don’t worry, we’ll still have a cruise outside the harbour on for you, and some coaching opportunities of your own later in September. For Dinghy Sailors, the RYA have produced an excellent series of videos aimed at Laser Sailors, which you can have a look at in preparation for Saturday: here
Saturday 19th September
We’ll be holding a mini afternoon regatta outside the harbour on Saturday the 19th of September. This is the Saturday when a TV film crew will be filming club member Leonard in battle with Senator Eamonn Coghlan. We would love to get the whole squib fleet out racing on the 19th for a bit of background! (and serious competition). Dinghy fleet starts will be separate to those of the squibs!
Bart’s Bash – Sunday 20th September
This is the INSC’s first ever event open to the whole Dun Laoghaire Sailing Community and entry is free of charge. In addition, there’s no charge for using club boats that day too. Member with their own boats are encouraged to sign up here, and members without their own boat are asked to email the club on club@insc.ie with their desired boat to sail on.
Best Regards,
Glyn Williams
