Sailing this Wednesday and the remainder of the Summer
Club sailing this Wednesday will be taking place from 6.30pm-9.30pm. We’ll be focusing on a Seamanship Skill each week for the month of July. This week we’ll practise picking up moorings, an essential skill for any boater to come to a complete stop at a precise point!
Apart from practising a skill each night, we’ll also head off into the bay, or wherever the winds take us! For August the Wednesday night focus will move to a mini August Race Series with PY handicaps for each boat so that everyone, from 1720s to picos will be racing against one another.
Dinghy Sailing Converts! More Keelboaters wanted…
There’s been a great number of keelboaters taking part in dinghy courses in the school and it’s great to see how many dinghies are now out each session, with more dinghy sailors than keelboaters for the first time in a long time last Wednesday.
There’s a couple more courses coming up in the school that we’ll try to coordinate further club members who wish to take up this skill on. If you’re interested in taking one of these courses, please email me I’ll link everyone up. I would recommend taking the Dinghy level 1, as the skill of balancing the boats is the key thing to learn!
- Course 7: 23rd and 24th July
- Course 8: 13th and 14th August
