Member Request

(14 Apr 2016)

Hi all,

May is approaching and that means evening sailing is on the horizon. I want to gauge appetite among club members for changing our evening sailing from Thursday to Wednesday. Changing to Wednesday evenings would have two main benefits:

  1. The bay and the harbour would be far less crowded. DBSC yacht sailing takes place on a Thursday evening, and the harbour is usually extremely crowded on a Thursday evening. Sailing on a Wednesday evening would mean that we would have the harbour almost entirely to ourselves.
  2. Changing to Wednesday evenings would mean that club members who participate in the DBSC racing need not miss out on evening sails with the club.

Your feedback can be sent to the club email club@insc.ie and it will be forwarded to Peter. If you would indicate which night you would prefer to sail, I would very much appreciate it. I will also be canvassing opinion in person over the next two Saturdays. If the numbers are such that a change to Wednesday evenings is warranted, we can proceed to discuss logistics with the club.

Best wishes,

Peter Doherty
