Dalkey Island Barbeque

Saturday 7th September (11am-4.30pm)

What better than to start rounding off the busy summer with a sail to Dalkey Island, anchoring off and enjoying a delicious barbeque on the Island?

We’ll set sail on Saturday morning at 11am in whatever craft you choose, 1720, Squib, Laser, Pico, Topper, the choice is yours. The clubhouse will be open from 10.30am.

No racing just a nice relaxed sail to Dalkey Sound. Dinghies will be able to pull up on the small sandy beach while keelboats will use their seamanship skills while anchoring in a suitable location in the sound.

The barbeque will be in full swing when hungry sailors reach the shore. Angus Beef Burgers cooked by chef Muriel Rumball will be the order of the day! Side salads and vegetarian options will be available as well!

Sit back, enjoy the food, company and scenery, maybe even take in a stroll to the old gun battery or Martello Tower on this historic landmark.

In our own time, we’ll get back aboard our boats, weigh anchor and sail home!

Member Cost: Two Club Vouchers + Fee for BBQ of €15
